Kultrun Infrastructure

Kultrun is a hybrid cluster. All the machines are SuperMicro and the cluster is structured as following:

  • 1 Headnode
  • 1 Shared memory machine
  • 18 INTEL Computing nodes
  • 2 AMD Computing nodes
  • 1 Backup/Storage server
  • 48 ports 10 GbE Switch

  • The cluster is managed through SLURM and monitored via Ganglia. Details of each machine are reported here below.

    The different components in detail

    Intel nodes

18 computing nodes, 576 cores, with 64 GB RAM and 4 TB scratch space per node. 2 x Intel 6130 (Xeon Gold) per node, 32 cores, 2.1 GHz.

    AMD Node

2 AMD nodes for testing and quick runs (tot 64 cores).
    2 x AMD Naples (Epyc), 32 cores, 2.2 GHz.
64 GB RAM and 4 TB HDD.

    Shared memory

The shared memory machine, Ada Lovelace, is the largest and fastest of the entire Chile. 8 x Intel 8180 (Xeon Platinum), 224 cores, 2.5 GHz, 3 TB RAM.

    Software available

Kultrun provides different compilers/libraries and software installed through modules:
