Dr. Douglas GeislerResearch carried out by Dr. Douglas Geisler covers optical and infrared observational astronomy. He studies the age, composition and content of stellar populations in nearby galaxies, especially in star clusters. Geisler is interested in using globular clusters to study galaxy formation. His work includes galactic and extragalactic stellar populations. Douglas Geisler obtained his PhD in Astronomy in 1983 at the University of Washington, USA, and joined Universidad de Concepción in 1999. In 2019, Dr. Geisler received the title of Professor Emeritus from the Academic Council of the University of ConcepciĆ³n, an honorary degree that is awarded to the outstanding academics of the house of studies.
