Dr. Jhon YanaDr. Jhon Yana obtained his Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, in 2021, and will join the Department of Astronomy as an Associate Professor in October 2025. He is focused on the study and analysis of chemical abundances, as well as the characterization and determination of stellar parameters in Sun-like stars. His research has also extended to stellar binary systems and the observation of exoplanets. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with the Carnegie Institution for Science and Mackenzie Presbyterian University. Additionally, he has been involved in undergraduate teaching for nearly a decade and has mentored nearly a dozen students. Finally, he is strongly committed to outreach, having participated in public lectures in Brazil, Peru, and the USA since 2018. |
