Dr. Ronald MennickentRonald Mennickent's research focuses on stellar variability at different stages of stellar evolution. Dr. Mennickent works with optic and infrared spectroscopy and imaging on large telescopes located in northern Chile. Whithin his study fields are binary stars, transfer phenomena and mass loss, and stellar accretion disks. Dr. Mennickent has been PI in several FONDECYT projects and has also conducted outreach and astronomical teaching projects. Ronald Mennickent obtained his Ph.D. at the Pontifica Universidad Católica de Chile, in 1995. He joined the Universidad de Concepción in 1994.
