Dr. rer. nat. Tom Richtler

Tom Richtler works on Globular Clusters and systems of Galaxy Clusters. One of his goals is to use the globular clusters system of a galaxy as dynamical proof of its gravitational potential.

Wide-field photometry of early-type galaxies helps to determine morphological parameters of globular clusters systems.

The combined photometric and kinematic data will constrain the theories of galaxy formation. He also works on massive young clusters in spiral galaxies and in star cluster formation issues. Other interests are the stellar initial mass function and Supernovae.
